Position Overview:
The Director will be responsible for all quality assurance processes and implementing processes within the additive manufacturing (AM) space, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled to the highest standards. The role requires a strong foundation in quality control, coordination across cross-functional teams, and a commitment to continuous improvement in the AM process. This position is critical in guiding the organization through the complexities of AM quality standards, while fostering growth and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Leadership, lead and enhance the quality control systems for AM processes, materials, and final products, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Cross-functional Coordination, collaborate closely with teams in order entry, scheduling, purchasing, production, and shipping to align on quality requirements, streamline workflows, and support timely order fulfillment.
- Customer Order Processing, direct the quality management lifecycle from order entry through shipping, ensuring each step adheres to established quality guidelines and meets client expectations.
- Process Improvement and Compliance, oversee and enhance process documentation, quality standards, and internal audits, focusing on continuous improvement and compliance with industry regulations and certifications.
- Team Development, mentor and develop quality team members, promoting a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Quality assurance and quality control experience
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes and materials
- Prior experience in industries like aerospace and defense where quality standards are stringent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Leadership experience
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with quality management systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Metallurgical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
Preferred:
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification or other certifications in process improvement methodologies.
